He is also a Guest Professor at the Saint Joseph University of Macau. Previously, he worked as a director and producer at Teledifus\u00e3o de Macau (TDM). Additionally, he has been invited to participate in international festivals of video, digital media art, and cinema, such as FRESH (Thailand), Thinking Media (South Korea), Dokanema (Mozambique), Loop (Spain), Festival de La Imagen and Ecologias Digitales (Colombia), The Script Road (China), and FILE (Brazil).<\/p>\n<p>Bruno Mendes da Silva has participated in twenty-two (22) scientific projects (as either principal investigator or research member) and is the author of several books, book chapters, and other scientific publications (approximately 90). He has been a guest lecturer in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Tunisia, Mozambique, Brazil, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Korea, and China. He has supervised seven (7) doctoral theses. He has served as a visiting professor at public universities in Aveiro and Vila Real and as the director of the Department of Theater and Cinema at ESAP \u2013 Escola Superior Art\u00edstica do Porto.<\/p>\n<p>He has been directing the AVANCA Film Festival since 1997 and the AVANCA|CINEMA scientific conference since 2010. Additionally, he coordinates the &#8220;Eng.\u00ba Fernando Gon\u00e7alves Lavrador&#8221; Award, which is annually bestowed upon the best academic research on cinema. He serves as the European coordinator for the International Federation of Film Societies and the national coordinator for INPUT-TV, an international conference that brings together public television stations from around the world. He is also a co-editor of the &#8220;International Journal of Cinema.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He has produced and directed films that have been awarded more than three hundred prizes at festivals on all continents. Among them, he produced and co-directed the first feature-length Portuguese animated film. He is the author of several books, book chapters, and other scientific publications. He has supervised numerous completed doctoral and master&#8217;s theses. Silva F. Sousa holds a Ph.D. in Education, specializing in Educational Psychology, from the University of Minho, Portugal, with a doctoral internship in Paris at the Laboratory of Differential Psychology of the University Ren\u00e9 Descartes (Paris V) \u2013 Sorbonne. She also holds a Master&#8217;s degree in Educational Sciences, specializing in Activation of Psychological Development, from the University of Aveiro, and a Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Philosophy from the University of Porto.<\/p><p>As a guest lecturer at the University of Huelva, she collaborates with universities in the Andalusia region, Brazil, etc., participating in doctoral juries and hosting doctoral students and graduates under her supervision to further explore the topic of education for resilience. She was the proposer (2004) and scientific coordinator, as well as a professor, of the international doctoral program in Multicultural Education at the University of Huelva, Spain.<\/p><p>She is the scientific coordinator of the Portuguese team at UAlg for the international project &#8220;Resilience in Higher Education: Overcoming Adversities.&#8221; The overall objective of the project is to analyze, design, and evaluate an Intervention Program within the educational context of Higher Education. This program aims to develop resilience constructs based on competencies in education, health (including physical expression, mindfulness, yoga, music, physical education, and sports), digital world and communication, creativity, arts, and culture. These competencies are intended to foster resilient behavior patterns.<\/p><p>Carolina Sousa served as the coordinator in Portugal for the Section of Educational Psychology of the Portuguese Society for Educational Sciences (SPCE). Additionally, she serves as the Director of the Ph.D. program in Digital Media Art, taught in partnership between the University of Algarve and Universidade Aberta.<\/p>\n<p>On the international level, she holds the vice presidency of the International Association of Computational Art &#8211; ARTECH-Int, which she coordinates with other prominent national roles.<\/p>\n<p>She is a member of the curatorial team of the Portuguese Network of Contemporary Art and Director of Rotura &#8211; Journal of Communication, Culture, and Arts.<\/p>\nShe has been involved in over 25 scientific projects, often serving as general coordinator and\/or institutional coordinator in many of them.<\/p>\n<p>She has participated, by invitation, in over 100 national and international conferences, with more than 60 articles published in nationally and internationally recognized journals.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of her intense scientific activity, she has authored 17 books and contributed to 56 chapters in highly recognized works in her field of study.<\/p>\n<p>In total, over 50 master&#8217;s, doctoral, and post-doctoral students have defended their titles under her supervision.<\/p>\n<p>Mirian Tavares also regularly contributes to various cultural magazines and the production of artistic texts and catalogs. She studies creation processes in general and those of cinema in particular, with a special focus on contemporary scriptwriting practices. She has also published in several peer-reviewed journals and presented scientific papers at national and international conferences.<\/p>\n<p>As a researcher, her research interests lie in education, arts, and technology. Since 2004, she has collaborated with various research centers, including the Center for Computer Graphics (CCG) and the Research Center for Arts and Communication (CIAC), where she has participated in several international projects. In his teaching career in the field of video games, he has also collaborated with other institutions such as IADE, Etic, the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, and Restart.<p>\n<p>He is a member of the Board of Specialists at Digital Valley, holding a Bachelor&#8217;s and Master&#8217;s degree in Design from ESAD (IPL), a Specialist Title in Audio-Visuals and Media Production (CNAEF 213), and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Media Art Digital at the University of Algarve (UAlg) and Universidade Aberta (UAb).<p>\n<p>Starting his career as a designer and illustrator in 2002 and focusing on the video game industry since 2006, Gabriel has worked with various national and international studios, including Biodroid, Yucca Studios, ZPX, Volt Games, Cabbageman, Glamour Games, Evorlor, among others. His activity has focused on leading art teams, creating visual concepts, and producing 2D art for video games. He has also embraced roles as a producer and game designer in several projects for platforms such as Nintendo, PlayStation, Microsoft, iOS, Android, Facebook, and the Web.<p>\n<p>Gabriel is also passionate about other forms of art, maintaining a parallel activity as an illustrator and comic book artist. Since 2005, he has been published in various Portuguese editions (such as S\u00e1bado magazine, Kingpin Books, Pushstart, Sketchbook, Qual Albatroz, among others) and international editions (Bluewater Productions and Dark Horse). His research focuses on philosophical practices in childhood such as the Philosophy for Children program and the IPP by \u00d3scar Brenifier, as well as being a member of the Philosophy for Children association in Andalusia, a board member of the cultural association Philosophy on the Street, and creator of the Little Philosophers workshops. In this line, he has developed the Cinesophy manual in the classroom, combining practical philosophy, pedagogy, and cinema. His research has also led to national and international projects, a startup in the serious games industry, and a series of patents resulting from his method and advanced prototypes, such as US6893407 &#8220;Method and Apparatus for Communication.&#8221;<p>\n<p>He is recognized as a global pioneer in digital media and its use with communities of people with disabilities, where creative artistic expression acts as a catalyst for new opportunities in practice. His artistic work has been showcased at major global events, including two Olympic\/Paralympic Games (Atlanta 1996; Sydney 2000), numerous exhibitions in European Cultural Capitals, and events such as the Danish NeWave in New York in 1999.
